EVALUATIONSPlease contact our office to schedule an evaluation. Our office staff will complete a brief history form with you over the telephone. You will be asked to complete a more detailed, written history on the day of your assessment.
Our evaluation appointments are held during specific days and times with each therapist and cannot be changed. As a result, we are unable to entertain requests for alternate assessment days and times.
We assess one disorder per evaluation session. If you require the evaluation of more than one skill area, (i.e. language and swallowing) a separate session will need to be arranged for each skill area. Please notify our staff when you are scheduling your evaluation so that appropriate arrangements can be made.
We ask that you arrive 15 minutes early to your appointment so that you can complete our written case history packet. If you have a co-payment, deductible amount or private payment due the day of the evaluation, you may pay by cash or check. We do not accept credit cards. Payment is expected prior to the evaluation.
You and your family will be counseled regarding the findings of the assessment and our recommendations immediately following your evaluation.
THERAPY SESSIONSAn initial evaluation is required in order to begin treatment at our facility. If you have had an assessment completed within the past 12 months at another facility, you may fax it to us for review and it may be sufficient information for us to begin therapy. Therapy is conducted in a one-to-one, individual environment. Family members are more than welcome to observe sessions. We can accommodate 1 additional adult per therapy room.
All individual treatment sessions are 30-minutes in length (there are no exceptions). We do our best to accommodate your requests for specific days and general times for therapy. However, after work appointments are in high demand. There is typically a waiting list for these times.
Payment is due on the day of the session. If you are paying for more than one session weekly you may pay that on the last visit of the week.
Clients that are using insurance benefits are invoiced for their portion during the first week of the month for the month prior. Payment is expected by the last day of the month to avoid a late fee. All payments can be made by cash or check. We do not accept credit cards.
INSURANCE REIMBURSEMENTIf you are planning to utilize your insurance benefits, we strongly recommend you contact your carrier and ask the following questions:
- Do I have speech therapy benefits available under my plan?
- Will an assessment be a covered benefit?
- What is included in my benefits for speech therapy?
- What is excluded from my benefits for speech therapy?
- Do I have a limited number of visits per calendar year or per insurance benefit year?
- If I have a limited number of visits, are they combined with other therapies such as physical or occupational therapy?
Our staff does not call insurance carriers to determine each client’s benefits. It is the client’s responsibility to contact the insurance carrier and to understand their own benefits.
Our staff is happy to submit claims to insurance carriers for their review and determination of benefits.
Progressive Speech Corp. and its employees are not responsible for the determination of coverage made by any insurance carrier. We play no part in their decision process. Clients should direct all questions directly to their insurance carrier. Clients are responsible for payment of their accounts if their insurance denies coverage.
